Securing your goods
Placement
Place the
Minder Alarm in a prominent place so that thieves know goods are secured and
it’s not just a piece of wire! This will also allow the siren to be heard
clearly.
Set-up
You will have only one
plug-to-plug cable, this is required so you don’t end up with two sockets
back at the alarm when you complete the loop. Plug this in first, then
continue to add cable lengths as required threading the cable through holes
and handles of your goods and then back to the alarm to complete the loop.
It’s also a good idea to
loop the cable around a permanent fixture so the goods and alarm don’t
get removed all at the same time.
Hints
- if the hole is too small in
one of your products to fit the sensor plug through, try looping the cable
through and passing the plug back through the looped cable. In this way as
long as the cable can fit though the goods can still be secured.
- For
many products on display the simple use of the security cable is all that
is required. But in the case of modern battery drills that don't tend to
have a trigger guard anymore there is no hole for the cable to pass
through. To protect battery drills we have developed a
battery
drill sensor that simply plugs in-line with the standard security
cable. For more information please contact us.
Security cable
The security cables have RCA type plugs, unfortunately even though this is a standard plug, not all RCA plugs are made the same and false triggering can occur, if "any old" cable assemblies are used. The cables provided are guaranteed to work for two years and are very cost effective.
Key switch
The Minder Alarm is provided with 2 keys, please keep the spare in a safe place as the keys are unique and cannot be commonly copied. If the keys are lost then the Alarms will need to be sent back to the distributor or Ulterior Products to have the Key switch replaced.
Maintenance
Replacing Batteries
Turn the alarm off before replacing batteries as the alarm will sound when the cover is removed and it is very loud with the cover off!
Once the batteries have been replaced ensure that the cover is replaced fully home and all screws are replaced to full depth as the case is tamperproof.
Cleaning plugs
Plugs and sockets should be kept free of dust, water and other contaminants that could stop the alarm from working properly. To clean them please use CRC Contact Cleaner or equivalent.
